Current Research and News for ATS
1st ATS/Carrier Multidisciplinary Clinic in the World

A Twist of Fate-ATS partnered with Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, AR and several doctors to start the 1st ATS/Carrier Multidisciplinary Clinic in the World, June 27 & 28, 2016. The head of the ATS clinic is Dr. Yuri Zarate supported by Dr Tom Collins, Director of ACH's Connective Tissue Clinic. We were pleased to be able to invite Dr. Bert Callewaert from Belgium, our ATOF-ATS Medical Director and the doctor who found the SLC2A10 gene mutation for the syndrome, as well as Inga DeWewandele, a physiotherapist that specializes in connective tissue syndromes. There was also great collaboration with the Jones Eye Institute with Dr. David Warner and Dr. Joshua Hardin for extensive eye exams and research on the patients eyes. There were different scans taken and echocardiograms during the two days of clinic. We are sure that there will be journal publications from the information that was gathered from this event. ATOF worked hard to create this great collaboration between all of these doctors and ACH to create this historic event. Credit however, must also be given to a very special cardiologist, Dr. Eudice Fontentot for his inspiration, support, and great care of an ATS family in particular. If he had not mentioned to Mrs. Taylor many years ago, "Wouldn't it be great if we could make ACH the hub for ATS," this endeavor might have not happened the way it did. We are very grateful for the wonderful physicians, nurses, support staff and the families that were involved in making this happen.
This is just the beginning of what ATOF has in store. It certainly takes a village to find the cure for any disease and we our proud of the village we have created to fight arterial tortuosity syndrome.
If you are interested in participating in this clinic please message us here. We will answering questions and prescreening inquiries about this unique ATS/Carrier Opportunity. If you were not able to make this past date, we will be working with families to be seen in-between the Official ATS/Carrier Multidisciplinary Clinic Dates, and the next date is to be determined.

Other ATS Projects:

CAMBRIDGE BIOMARKETING has created an interactive website for Arterial tortuosity syndrome, http://www.arterialtortuositysyndrome.com/. Our hopes is this site to be the online hub for ATS, where ATS experts can meet others who treat patients with ATS, so families can connect with other ATS families, and become an online library of information for arterial tortuosity syndrome. This site is fully functioning with frequent updates. Check back often for the latest information on ATS.
